When was the last time you got an unexpected call or e-mail from someone that totally brightened your mood? Try taking time to surprise people in your life with little acts of kindness – it makes them feel special ... and you feel good! Here are some ideas from Life Magazine:

  • Give your spouse or significant other a small gift on your next date night.
  • Send a gift basket or flowers to the hotel room of a friend on a long trip.
  • Cut the grass or pull some weeds for a neighbor who is overwhelmed at work.
  • Take some food over to a family who's suffering from financial hardship.
  • Call and invite an old friend over for coffee.
  • Offer to buy lunch for a co-worker you don't know very well and get to know them!
  • Spend some time with an elderly neighbor or friend who is lonely.
  • If you are a parent, plan a special day with your kids ... but don’t tell them.
  • Pay the toll or buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in line.
  • Stay late and help a co-worker finish an important project.
  • Thank people who serve you ... waiter, janitor, receptionist. (LittleThingsMatter.com)
