Randy Travis' doctors say that he is still in critical condition but has stabilized.
He is currently off mechanical devices to support his heart. He remains on intravenous medications, but will soon be given oral drugs that he will need to take long-term. He seems to be recovering well from the stroke and surgery to relieve pressure in his brain. His doctor reports that he is awake, alert and interacting with his family and friends.
Randy will have to stay at the hospital for another two-to-three weeks, followed by a stay at an in-patient facility where he'll receive aggressive physical therapy.
