According to a new survey of more than 3,000 women, we lie constantly about our eating habits − almost nine fibs a day, in fact.
According to researchers, the foods most likely to prompt a lie were chocolate, cookies, cake, wine, cheese, and bread.
Here are some of the most common lies we tell about our weight:
- It was only a small portion
- I’ll have a big lunch so I won’t eat much after this
- I only treat myself once in a while
- I always eat my fruits and vegetables
- I didn’t touch any of the cookies
- I had only one glass
- I didn’t eat the last one
- I won’t eat again today after this
- I was too busy to have lunch
- I might as well polish them off now or they’ll go bad
