The San Francisco Giants completed their sweep of the Tigers Sunday night in Detroit to become the 2012 World Champions by beating the Tigers 4-3 in 10 innings.
It's the second time in three years that the Giants have been MLB Champs and this year, it was well deserved as San Francisco managed to come back in the playoffs two times before moving into the World Series to sweep the Tigers, who themselves made it to the Series by sweeping the Yankees.
Marco Scutaro again delivered the key hit, knocking in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning. Then, in the bottom of the 10th, Giants closer Sergio Romo struck out the side, including Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera for the final out with a called third strike.
