Mayor Scott Holds Press Conference to Address Protesters and Updated Curfew

Mayor Scott and Police Chief Humphrey came together for a press conference today to discuss the protesting that has taken place in Little Rock and started by saying that he wanted to give the "utmost appreciation for the men and women of the Little Rock Police Department as well as the peaceful protesters in the city of Little Rock." He went on to explain that he opened by saying that to those who are protesting peacefully and that it should be everyone's desire to maintain peace. He expressed that this is a stressful, tiring time where we are experiencing not only a global pandemic that noone has lived through before, but also experiencing pain and frustration, and that we should all hope to achieve a level of peace.

The Mayor also said that he received "very critical information that is causing us to amend the curfew" to 8pm tonight. All Little Rock businesses, residents, and protesters are asked to abide by the curfew during this time. He urged that everyone respect the 1st Amendment rights of every citizen, but also to respect the property and the city of Little Rock.
